# Creating an Email

From the Email tab, click **New email**. You land on a start screen with three ways to begin. Pick whichever gets you going fastest. All three drop you into the same [composer](/email-campaigns/the-composer.md), so you can change anything afterward.

## 1. Pick a template

You get four templates to start from:

* **New release.** Built for announcing a song or album.
* **Concert update.** Built for tour and show news.
* **Plain text.** A simple, letter-style email with no heavy design.
* **Build your own.** A blank canvas when you want to lay it out yourself.

Click one to preview it, then choose **Use this template** to open it as a draft.

## 2. Reuse a past email

If you have sent emails before, you will see a few of your recent ones here, each with its open rate so you can spot what worked. Choose **Use this email** to make a copy of that design as a new draft. Your fans and timing do not carry over, only the look and content, so you decide who gets it and when.

## 3. Describe it and let us draft it

If you would rather not start from a blank page, type what you want the email to say into the box, for example "announce my single dropping Friday and link to the presave." You can attach an image too. We create a draft and write a first version for you based on your description.

It is a starting point, not the final word. Once it opens in the composer, you can edit every part by hand or keep working with the assistant. See [the composer](/email-campaigns/the-composer.md).
