Apply for your own dedicated texting number so you can start sending.
Before you can text your fans, you need your own dedicated phone number. You apply for it once, ForeverFan sets it up, and from then on every text you send comes from that number.
Texting in the US is regulated. Carriers require a real business behind every number that sends messages to fans, so you fill out a short form with your details before your number can go live. It is a one-time step, and it is what keeps your texts landing in fans' inboxes instead of getting blocked as spam.
Head to the SMS setup page and fill in:
Legal First Name and Legal Last Name: your real legal name.
Phone: a phone number the carriers can reach you at.
Artist Website: your site, or your main link.
Address, City, State, and Zip Code: your address.
Every field is required. Once you submit, the request goes off for review.

Setting up a number can take up to 10 business days. While you wait, the SMS setup page shows that your application has been sent and is being processed. There is nothing else you need to do.
When your number is ready, we email you. At that point the SMS tab appears in your sidebar and you can start writing texts.
Your dedicated number costs $6.00 per month. It is added to your ForeverFan subscription, so it shows up as a line on your regular bill alongside your plan. You can see it broken out on your subscription page in Settings.
Texting is set up per artist account. Label sub-accounts cannot apply for their own number.
Once your number is live, you are ready to send. Head to Sending a Text.
